Terms of Service

Effective October 5, 2026

These launch-stage terms are intended to provide a clear baseline for BiteVector users. They should receive a professional legal review before BiteVector reaches material commercial scale.

1. Acceptance

By accessing or using BiteVector, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. Fishing information is not a guarantee

BiteVector provides forecasts, recommendations, analytics, maps, community information, and other fishing-related information for convenience and informational purposes. Fish behavior, weather, water conditions, access, closures, and regulations can change. BiteVector does not guarantee catches, conditions, access, safety, or the accuracy or completeness of third-party information.

3. Regulations and safety

You are responsible for checking current official fishing regulations, emergency rule changes, licensing requirements, property/access restrictions, marine conditions, and safety information before acting. BiteVector is not a substitute for official regulatory or emergency sources.

4. Accounts

You are responsible for information submitted through your account and for keeping your credentials secure. Do not impersonate another person, create accounts for abuse, or attempt to access another user's account.

5. Community content

You retain ownership of content you submit. By publishing content through BiteVector, you grant BiteVector a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, reproduce, process, resize, moderate, and distribute that content as necessary to operate and promote the service, subject to your privacy and visibility selections.

You must have the rights necessary to upload your content. Prohibited content includes illegal material, sexual or nude content, graphic violence, threats, harassment, spam, malware, fraudulent content, and material that infringes another person's rights. BiteVector may remove content or restrict accounts to protect the community or service.

6. Location privacy

Do not assume that all fishing information is private. Review the visibility setting before posting. BiteVector is designed to keep private trip tracks, exact waypoints, and similar sensitive fishing data from being automatically exposed through community posts, but you remain responsible for information you intentionally disclose.

7. Subscriptions

Paid features may be offered through app-store subscriptions. Pricing, billing period, renewal terms, trials, cancellation, and refund options will be shown before purchase and are subject to the applicable store's billing rules.

8. Acceptable use

Do not misuse BiteVector, scrape or harvest user data, circumvent security, reverse engineer protected portions of the service except where law permits, interfere with service operation, automate abusive activity, or use BiteVector to stalk, threaten, or endanger another person.

9. Third-party services

BiteVector may rely on third-party maps, weather, tide, geocoding, payment, hosting, and other data services. We are not responsible for outages, inaccuracies, or changes caused by third-party services.

10. Availability and changes

Features may change, be limited, or be discontinued. Beta functionality may be incomplete or contain errors. We may update BiteVector to improve reliability, security, compliance, or usefulness.

11. Disclaimer

To the maximum extent permitted by law, BiteVector is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of guaranteed availability, fishing success, accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, BiteVector and its operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of the service, including loss related to fishing decisions, weather, travel, access, equipment, data, or user content.

13. Termination

You may stop using BiteVector at any time and may request account deletion. We may suspend or terminate access for material violations of these Terms, threats to users or the service, fraud, or legal requirements.
