1. What BiteVector collects
Depending on which features you use and the permissions you grant, BiteVector may collect account information, fishing-trip records, catch records, tackle and presentation information, photos you choose to upload, approximate or precise location information, device/app diagnostics, subscription status, and community activity such as follows, likes, reports, and public posts.
2. Location and fishing data
Location can be used to support maps, trip recording, nearby conditions, tides, launches, regulations, and fishing recommendations. Exact private fishing locations, GPS tracks, and waypoints are not intended to become public merely because you create a community post. Public location sharing should use the visibility choices presented in the app.
3. How we use information
We may use information to operate and secure BiteVector, sync your account, provide fishing recommendations and trip analysis, personalize the experience, display public content you choose to share, process subscriptions, prevent abuse, measure product performance, diagnose crashes, respond to support requests, and improve BiteVector.
4. AI and automated processing
BiteVector may use automated systems to generate fishing recommendations, summarize trip patterns, classify or moderate uploaded content, identify spam or unsafe content, and improve product relevance. Automated recommendations can be wrong and should not be treated as guarantees.
5. Public community content
Information you intentionally publish to BiteVector community areas may be visible to other users. Public posts may include your display name, selected catch details, chosen general fishing-area tags, photos, and other information you explicitly publish. Do not publish information you want to keep private.
6. Service providers
We may use third-party providers for cloud hosting, authentication, databases, file storage, analytics, crash reporting, maps, geocoding, weather, tides, payments, and automated moderation. Those providers may process data as necessary to provide their services. We will identify material providers in this policy as the production stack is finalized.
7. Data sharing
We do not sell personal information to advertisers. We may share information with service providers that help operate BiteVector, when required by law, to protect users or the service, or as part of a business transfer. Public content is shared according to the visibility choices you make.
8. Data retention and deletion
We retain information as needed to operate BiteVector, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, maintain security, and provide requested features. When account deletion is available, users can request deletion through the app and through the process described on our Account Deletion page. Some limited information may be retained when legally required or necessary for security and fraud prevention.
9. Children
BiteVector is not directed to children under 13. Users must meet the minimum age required by applicable law and app-store rules.
10. Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards designed to protect information. No online service can guarantee absolute security.
11. Your choices
You can choose whether to grant device permissions such as location and photos, control what you post publicly, and request account deletion. Certain features may not function without required permissions.
12. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy as BiteVector evolves. Material changes will be reflected by changing the effective date and, when appropriate, providing additional notice.
13. Contact
